Summary.

Large tech platforms, such as Amazon or Google, have been drawing increasing criticism over the last few years. According to the allegations, they have been using anticompetitive and predatory strategies to illegally exploit their market power to the detriment of consumers and third-party providers that depend on these platforms.

Chiara Farronato is the Glenn and Mary Jane Creamer Associate Professor of Business Administration at Harvard Business School and co-principal investigator at the Platform Lab at Harvard’s Digital Design Institute (D^3). She is also a fellow at the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Center for Economic Policy Research.

Andrey Fradkin is an assistant professor at Boston University who specializes in the economics of digital platforms and search and matching markets.

Andrei Hagiu is an associate professor of information systems at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business.

Dionne Lomax is a lecturer in the Markets, Public Policy and Law Department at Boston University’s Questrom School of Business and (by courtesy) at Boston University’s School of Law. Dionne is also the managing director of antitrust and trade regulation at Affiliated Monitors. She previously was an antitrust partner in two national law firms, where she represented high-profile clients in various commercial transactions before the U.S. Department of Justice, Federal Trade Commission, and various state attorneys general.
